1. Services

JOA Electrical provides residential electrical services across the Perth metropolitan area, including switchboard upgrades, safety switch installation, lighting, electrical fault finding, home rewiring, hot water electrical connections, ceiling fan installation, and split system air conditioning installation. Split system work is limited to new installations and like-for-like replacements. We do not provide air conditioning servicing, maintenance, or repair. All work is carried out by licensed electricians in accordance with AS/NZS 3000 and applicable WA regulations.

Where our electrical work is carried out alongside another trade, for example, a plumber for hot water system installations, JOA Electrical is responsible only for the electrical portion of the work. We do not accept liability for work performed by other tradespeople, whether arranged by us or by you.

2. Quotes, Pricing And Payment

We provide a written quote before starting any work. Quotes are valid for 30 days and prices are fixed for the agreed scope. If additional work is needed, we will notify you and provide a revised quote before proceeding. We will not carry out extra work without your consent. All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST unless otherwise stated.

After-hours and emergency call-outs may attract a higher rate than standard appointments. We will confirm the applicable rate before attending so there are no surprises.

Payment is due on completion unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing. We accept bank transfer, credit card, and debit card. Invoices not paid within 14 days of the due date may incur interest at 2% per month on the outstanding balance.

3. Bookings And Cancellations

Same-day appointments are available subject to scheduling and location. We’ll confirm your booking and provide an estimated arrival window. If we’re running late, we’ll let you know. Cancellations made with less than 2 hours’ notice may incur a call-out fee.

4. Warranties And Compliance

All workmanship is covered by a 12-month warranty from the date of completion. This covers defects in our work but does not extend to pre-existing faults, general wear and tear, or damage caused by third parties. Manufacturer warranties apply separately to any products or materials supplied.

Where required by law, we issue compliance certificates, including for switchboard upgrades, new installations, safety switch fitting, and rental property work, before leaving the premises or within 24 hours of completion. Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

5. Site Access And Safety

You are responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the work area, including clearing obstructions and securing pets. If site conditions prevent us from working safely, we may need to reschedule at no additional charge. If we encounter an unsafe condition during the course of work, we will stop, let you know, and advise on the best course of action.

6. Liability And Insurance

JOA Electrical holds $20 million in public liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance for all work carried out. Details are available on request. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim is limited to the cost of the services performed. This does not limit any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law, or our liability for personal injury or death caused by our negligence.

7. Privacy And Disputes

We collect your personal information solely to provide our services and communicate with you about your enquiry or booking. We do not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

If you are not satisfied with any aspect of our work, contact us so we can resolve it. If a dispute cannot be resolved directly, either party may refer the matter to the relevant consumer protection authority in Western Australia. These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia.
