Power Point Installation for Your Home, Investment Property or Rental
Running Out of Power Points Isn't Just Annoying, It's a Risk
Here's the problem, overloaded circuits cause tripping, overheating and in the worst case, electrical fires. Extension leads weren't designed to be permanent solutions. They wear out, they get kicked, they get buried under rugs where nobody checks them. A proper power point installation puts outlets where the demand actually is and takes the load off circuits that were never meant to carry it.

Your Power Points, Installed Right
- Placed Where You Need Them: Kitchen benches, home offices, entertainment units, garages, outdoor areas, we install power points where the demand is, not where the builder decided 30 years ago
- Clean Installation: Cable routed through walls and ceiling spaces. No surface-mounted trunking unless you want it. No mess left behind.
- Compliant Wiring: Every new power point wired to Australian standards and RCD protected. Compliance certificate for all notifiable work.

Questions Perth homeowners ask about Power Points Installation
How many power points can you add?
As many as you need, within the capacity of your switchboard and existing circuits. Most homes have room for several additional power points without any switchboard changes. If the board’s at capacity, we’ll tell you upfront and quote a circuit addition if needed.
Common jobs are two to six new outlets — a couple in the kitchen, a few in a home office or living area, maybe one in the garage. We check what you’ve got, confirm what the circuits can handle and quote accordingly.
Can you add a power point where there isn't one?
Yes. We run new wiring from the nearest circuit or the switchboard to wherever you want the outlet. Cable goes through the wall cavity or ceiling space so it’s concealed — no plastic trunking running along your skirting boards unless there’s no other option.
The only thing that sometimes limits placement is access. If the wall backs onto brick, concrete or a spot with no ceiling access above it, the cable route might need to go a different way. We work that out during the quote so you know exactly what to expect.
Do I need a licensed electrician to install a power point?
Yes. In WA, all electrical wiring work has to be done by a licensed electrician. That includes adding new power points, relocating existing ones and upgrading single outlets to doubles. It’s notifiable work and requires a compliance certificate on completion.
DIY electrical work is illegal and voids your insurance. If something goes wrong — a fire, a shock, a claim — and the work wasn’t done by a licensed sparky, you’re not covered. Every power point installation we do is certified and documented.
Will you need to cut into my walls?
Minimal cutting, if any. Most of the cable routing goes through wall cavities and ceiling spaces. Where we do need an access point, we keep it small and patch it neatly.
For new power points, the main cut is the outlet hole itself — which is hidden behind the face plate once it’s installed. You won’t see any evidence of the wiring behind it. If the wall is solid brick or there’s limited cavity access, we’ll let you know the options during the quote rather than surprising you on the day.
How much does power point installation cost?
Depends on how many outlets you’re adding and how far they are from the nearest circuit. A single additional power point on an existing circuit close to the switchboard is the cheaper end. Multiple outlets across different rooms with new cable runs cost more.
Fixed quote upfront. No call-out fee. Tell us what you need and where — we’ll send through a price, usually within 24 hours.
