Yes, after hours and weekend rates are higher than standard business hours pricing. That’s standard across the industry for any 24 hour electrician service, the overheads are different when you’re rolling out at 11pm on a Saturday.

We’ll always tell you the callout fee upfront before we head out. No surprises when the invoice arrives. If the job turns out to need more than the initial safe-make, we quote that separately so you can decide how to handle it.

If you can do it safely, yes. Switching off the main switch at the switchboard is the safest move if you’re dealing with a burning smell, sparking or exposed wiring. It cuts power to the whole house and removes the immediate risk.

If the switchboard itself is the problem: melted casing, smoke, heat coming off it, don’t touch it. Call us and stay clear. We’ll talk you through what to do when you ring.

First priority is always making the situation safe. That might mean isolating a circuit, disconnecting a faulty fitting or de-energising damaged wiring. That happens on the spot, no discussion needed.

If the actual repair is straightforward, a faulty power point, a damaged cable run, a tripped RCD that needs investigating, we’ll often sort it on the same visit. If it’s bigger than that, you get a fixed quote and a clear explanation before any further work goes ahead.
